Homemade Applesauce

If you have a food mill, applesauce is easy.

Ingredients:

lots of apples

water

 

1. Wash the apples and cut them in half.  No, don’t peel or core them; that takes way too long.

2. Cram as many apples as you can into your larges pot.  Add a little water (more water = runnier sauce).  Cook on medium heat until the apples are mushy (about 30-40 minutes, depending on the pot and the apples).

3.  Set up your food mill over a bowl.  Ladle the apples (and water) into the food mill and mill it.  Voila!  Applesauce!
