Short Story Contest With Perks

brimstone-anthology-graphicA couple of weeks ago I discovered the Realm Makers short story contest and I’m excited to enter it because even if I don’t win first place, my story will still have a chance at being published in a Speculative Fiction anthology by Brimstone Fiction. Say it with me, everyone: “Platform Builder!” Very good.

It’s brilliant by Brimstone, really. Authors are going to pay (contest fee $25) to submit their work for publication, and they will be happy to do so. Brimstone gets a nice anthology published and Happy Authors are not only published (Once again, nice and loud: “Platform Builder!” Excellent), but are now known by the editors of Brimstone and poised to be taken seriously if/when they submit a novel.

It’s a win-win. I can hear the tap-tap-tapping of Platform boards being nailed into place.

If you’re interested in entering, the link is Realm Makers Contest, the theme is Escape, the work count is 500-5000, and the deadline is the month of April. Oh, and grand prize is a scholarship to the Realm Makers Writers Conference. Tap tap.
